6-Week Program BADIS Program

Balancing Adoptee Dual Identity & Self-Image Program

Program Goals

Managing biological and adoptive identities can be very difficult to handle emotionally, mentally, and physically as an adopted person. The BADIS program aims to provide adoptees who struggle with balancing biological and adoptive families with emotional support and stress management techniques to aid in accepting both aspects of one’s dual identity. An adoptee’s true identity is comprised of their life before adoption and their life after. Both parts deserve acknowledgment.

Program Objectives

Increase the esteem and overall self-image of black adoptees who struggle to balance blending both worlds, adoptive and biological. Provide emotional support to adoptees who do not have the necessary support to navigate their adoption journey.
